Our bodies are largely made of fluids. We came from water, evolutionary and individually, from the gestation period in the womb. In time we become used to thinking of the body as a rigid structure, and of gravity as the main relationship we have with the ground, but the body resonates deeply with the waters that held it for so long and that till inhabit it. We will use simple movement and visualizations to explore the fluid weight of our bodies and find again the full support of Mother Sea. No experience necessary, we will draw from Yoga, somatic movement and Butoh in search of truthfulness through skills.
About Margherita Tisato:
I started my journey with movement as a child, studying dance from a young age in Italy where I was born. Throughout the years the connection to my body, its physicality and expression wasn’t always easy: Even so, paraphrasing Jose Limon, I never felt as alive, whole and human as when I was moving.
I have been gifted with many incredible guides over the years, and each and everyone of them has left an indelible mark on who I am now and how I share my practice. I've studied extensively Modern Dance, Butoh, Yoga and more recently Body Mind Centering.
Aside from studying, I started assisting my dance teacher at 16, and I've been teaching in some capacity ever since.
