Heartflame Writing Workshop
Hosted by Elisia Guerena
The heart is like an ER nurse on the night shift: busily tending a steady stream of incoming cases, shocked by nothing, and uncannily aware of the right medicines. She moves to her own rhythm, faithfully following an agenda born of a deeper knowing. She’s a master of embracing human experiences, and if we learn to pay attention and listen to her, we can translate her wisdom into a language that ignites our art.
This workshop will guide participants in letting the heart speak. We’ll explore the experiences that are frequently shunned or go untended by our logical minds. In so doing, we’ll tap into the authentic nature of the heart and its desire to connect through understanding.
Participants will receive an introductory talk on the energetic principles that rule the heart center, followed by a series of individual and group writing exercises. Students will also receive a Tarot consultation, aimed at unlocking the heart’s unique language and motivations, in order to facilitate and encourage sustained writing practice.
Students should wear comfortable clothing, and bring a writing utensil and notebook. Space is extremely limited, so advance registration is highly encouraged to guarantee a spot.
