Beltane Ceremony

hosted by Sarah Rayne

hosted by Sarah Rayne

with support from Lake Taylor at the Rose Temple

Beltane, or May Day, is celebrated on May 1st on the Wheel of the Year. Halfway between Spring Equinox and Summer Solstice, this day marks a celebration of life, fertility, warmth, and abundance. Taking place in the heart of Taurus season as the days are warming and the flowers are blooming, this is a time to partake in the joy + pleasure of being a human in relationship with the earth and the world around us!

This potent 2 hour group ceremony will begin with a talk on Beltane, taurus season, abundance, our sensory selves, and the gift of being in a body. We will move through a sensory activation meditation that will lead us into a gentle somatic dance to invoke our pleasure + playful sides and connect us with the energy of our faery friends. After our meditation and movement, we’ll transition into some flower fairy herbal tea blending! You’ll get to take home your own custom-blended herbal magic tea to enjoy at home. We will then crown a May Queen, move outdoors to set intentions around a beautiful bonfire, and sing a joyful song together to give thanks to the earth and revel in the energy of our own blooming and play. We’ll end with about 10-15 minutes to enjoy herbal tea and community connection. Feel free to bring a sweet treat to share with the group!

Honoring the changing of the seasons and the rhythms of the earth allows us to come into deeper connection and harmony with the natural cycles of ebb and flow that we travel through as the wheel of the year turns. This can help invite us into deeper connection with our own inner rhythms, and deep ancestral wisdom.
