Qigong Dance:
Flowing with Qi
“Qigong Dance: Flowing with Qi”, weaves the rich tradition of Qigong with ecstatic, free-form dancing as we learn to listen deeper to both ourselves and the movements of nature around us.
In Qigong we embody the concept of Wu Wei, “Nothing’s Own Doing,” and move without any effort as if the flow of the Dao itself is moving us. This easeful action allows us to have a clear mind that observes both the movements of the universe around us as well as the vast universe within our bodies, minds, and spirits. These principles can be applied and embodied within the space of mindful dancing. Shaking free the constraints of “what I should look like” and rather allowing our bodies to move in harmony and bliss with the energies of the universe.
In this workshop, Dr. Kat will lead us in Qigong visualization, self-massage, breath, and movement practices that bring awareness to the subtle comings and goings of Qi. Blended within these practices will be moments to let go of control and allow the Qi to move our bodies with the aid of a curated playlist by Dr. Kat. Movements will begin small and slowly grow until we are moving freely about the practice space.
No experience required. Come with an open mind and deep desire to listen to both the world within ourselves and the universe that surrounds us.
