An Afternoon of Healing with Wandering Roots (Online)

In this time of physical distance, join Wandering Roots as we connect our spirits in community. We will strengthen our immune system and self soothe through physical and creative expressions.

This virtual form of Wandering Roots will be hosted on Zoom by Wandering Roots organizers Kristen Volpone and Kat Brady on Saturday, May 2nd, from 4pm - 6pm Eastern / 1pm- 3pm Pacific. Our time will begin with an Immune Boosting Qigong form developed by the Ling Gui International Healing Qigong School in Portland, Oregon. It will be led by Qigong instructor and acupuncturist Hannah Grice. Following, Kristen and Kat will lead a community circle to give attendees time to connect and share their experiences. Afterwards, Holistic Art Therapist Stephanie Moreno will lead us in a journey of self-exploration through art as we address and begin to heal the density of life in quarantine.

We are excited to have facilitators from both east and west coast communities and to connect in this new way!

This event is donation-based with a suggested donation of $5-25; no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please sign up in advance so that we may send you the link prior to the event date.

For Stephanie’s segment, please prepare creative art materials you have in your home (page, pens, markers, pastels, magazines, scissors, tape, etc.) What ever you have works, no art experience required!

Special thanks to our partners at Firebird Healing Arts Portland for hosting us through their virtual systems!

Peace Community Circle

with Wandering Roots organizers Kristen Volpone and Kat Brady

In this segment we will take space to connect from a distance. We will do this through deep listening, sharing, and opening our hearts to express its gifts. The intention of this is to come together, form connection, and nurture joy.

Art Exploration

with Stephanie Moreno MA, ATR, LMFT

Creativity is how we express ourselves. Self-expression is therapeutic for many of us. Art lies in our shadows, our truths, our joys, and our spirit. The creative process nourishes our emotional, mental, and spiritual health. It is an act of release, and embrace. This creative exploration will allow us to further tap into our inner divinity. Creativity during times of quarantine can assist with mitigating trauma and deep feelings.

Stephanie is a Holistic Art Therapist, energy worker and holder of space. Her practice integrates modern teachings and indigenous healing arts. Her clinical education, personal awakening, and self-love journey have birthed a therapeutic style she aligns with. Stephanie is a Registered Art Therapist with the Art Therapy Association and holds an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy, specializing in Clinical Art Therapy. She is a student of traditional Mexica healings.
