Spring Equinox Ceremony [Portland]

The Spring Equinox marks a turning point on the wheel of the year: a time of balance, the official beginning of Spring, a celebration of the light that will now begin to outgrow the dark in their spiralic & cosmic dance.

The spring equinox on March 20th - also celebrated as Ostara (named for the goddess of spring) in pagan traditions - is a time to celebrate emergence, rebirth, and the early flowers of spring blooming from the warming earth. In western astrology, the equinox also corresponds with the first day of Aries season, and the beginning of the astrological new year. The ending of the old cycle (pisces season) and the bold, fiery emergence into a new season of passion and inspiration.

So, we will gather to celebrate sacred balance, rebirth, life, and the freshness of Spring and a new cycle beginning. We will release the old with a fire ceremony, and welcome the new as we plant seeds of intention for astrological year ahead.

This potent 2 hour group healing & ceremony will begin with a talk on the energies of the Spring Equinox, the Goddess Ostara, Aries Season, and the astrological new year. We will then journey through healing & meditative activities to honor the four elements, including: a water blessing, and guided meditation & intentional breath experience with live ambient sound. We will then plant literal seeds of intention for the cycle to come - you'll get to take home a small potted herb seed infused with your own intention & the magic from the ceremony! Finally, we'll move outside for a fire & water ceremony to release the old and welcome the new, and close with a fireside song (weather permitting).

Honoring the changing of the seasons and the rhythms of the earth allows us to come into deeper connection and harmony with the natural cycles of ebb and flow that we travel through as the wheel of the year turns. This can help invite us into deeper connection with our own inner rhythms, and deep ancestral wisdom.

All are welcome - no experience necessary!
